family
Valley-Born
I was born and raised in Harlingen, TX, a city in South Texas. Every time I drive down to Harlingen, I step back into 7-year-old Bianca, googley-eyed at the palm trees, filling up on my grandma’s chicken tacos, and sitting around the kitchen table gossiping with my tias and tios.
traveling
As I grew up, I began to realize my love for traveling, especially with my family by my side. There’s so much the world has to offer and I want to be able to experience it all. I haven’t left the country just yet…still waiting on a full-time job! ;)
All for them
My mom migrated back and forth from Harlingen to Illinois, helping her family plant and harvest as a form of income. My dad worked hard from a sign maker to unit director, creating a beautiful life for his family. My grandma immigrated from Mexico and met my grandpa who grew up on a reservation. Talk about the odds being stacked against them. Because of my family’s inability to quit and hunger for success, I refuse to take anything less.
sports
sports-watching
Okay yes I love sports, sports-watching that is. I was never the most athletic, but good thing there’s a lot of athletes out there that I live vicariously through.
sPURS & ASTROS
I’ve been a fan of the Spurs ever since I understood what basketball was. I’ve been a fan of the Astros since the maroon and white days. If I could be at every game, I would, but priorities!
commanders
Now this is embarassing to claim, but yes, I love the Commanders. Like I’ve been saying since the dawn of time, “this is our year!”
challenges
debt-free
I made it my mission, because I like to make things harder on myself, to graduate debt-free. A mission I have now accomplished. Through scholarships, I was able to pay for college without a single penny from my parents, something I know they are forever grateful for.
motivation
What drives me is my willingness to pay it forward, not just for my family, but for the community. It’s why I care about the work H-E-B is doing for healthcare, it’s why I’m interested in making the best experience for the user, and it’s why I will never give up when a challenge comes my way.
